The book synopsis

Jason Ecclestone is a completely normal student at the New York University. His life is not 'special', he never had any sort of signs, or other weirdness. His parents are both normal, and both love him very dearly.
The only things he would consider 'weird' are his boysterous best friend and the fact he managed to enter a relationship with Annie.
He has completely normal interests as well - videogames, books, literature, acting.
But when he finds weird, black spots growing on his back and his nights are tormented by bloody, absurd dreams, he'll find out that being normal doesen't stop the world if the world has plans for you.
Thrown headfirst along with five other absolutely ordinary people in an absurd world of prophecies, fate and mystical powers, where the stakes are high enough to make them question what they're willing to do and accept to keep the people they love safe, under the guidance of an ancient, mysterious figure.
Between exploring their new nature and their new powers, the conflicts born from being forced to live and fight together, and the looming threat of unknown, unrelenting forces, this group of absolutely ordinary people will be forced to do something extraordinary - or die trying.

My experience writing it:

My debut novel!
Published in November 2016, Elemental is an Urban Fantasy aimed at the YA/A public, where I tried to write out of what are usually the tropes of the genre - you will find no werewolves, no vampires, no love triangles in this. Just people forced to leave their old lives behind and trying to cope with something *way* out of their league, shedding their comforts and their morals to face something bigger than them.
What I loved writing are the interactions between the characters: each one of them had an absolutely normal life - from a student at the NYU to a barista in a small Valladolid cafeteria, from a Slovenian priest tied to his strong faith to a russian policeman having to live up to his family's military tradition and his morals, and so on. They're all people you could find on the streets close to you, and I hope I managed to convey that properly.
The book was written in Italian years ago (the reason why it's set in 2011), then, looking around at the publishing scene, I kinda got disheartened. But eventually I came around and decided to publish it anyway, following my own path and translating it myself from Italian to English, with pretty positive reviews!
